In order to achieve this we work in partnership with parents and carers to develop a mutual understanding so that:

• The management of behaviour becomes a shared responsibility within which mutual support is offered.
• Value is placed on celebrating achievements and rewarding positive behaviour.
• Parents and carers are aware of our expectations.
• We involved children in establishing and discussing our Diamond Promises.
• We have clear and consistent expectations which are made explicit to the children.
• We provide and environment and opportunities which foster positive behaviour from the outset.
• We aim to understand the reasons behind a child’s behaviour and use this knowledge to support their individual needs.
• We welcome the support and expertise of outside agencies.
