As an Infant and Nursery school, we focus on building strong early foundations for every child. While we are not included in national performance tables for Key Stage 2, it is still important that we share key information that reflects our commitment to high quality education and continuous improvement.

You will find a link to our latest Ofsted inspection report, which offers an independent view of the quality of education, leadership, and overall effectiveness of the school. Ofsted Insight
We were inspected by Ofsted in October 2024. The report highlights that Diamond Wood Community Academy continues to maintain the strong standards noted in its previous full inspection. The most recent Ofsted report can be viewed by clicking here.
Outcomes & Learning Growth:
- Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS): The majority of children demonstrate effective preparation for Key Stage 1, gaining essential skills and developmental foundations.
- Phonics & Reading: Phonics teaching begins in Reception (and Nursery), swiftly developing children’s ability to decode well and in turn read fluency. Additional support is in place for those needing help.
- Writing & Mathematics: Teaching is improving, especially in writing and maths, enabling most pupils to make good progress from low starting points.
- Support for SEND & Disadvantaged Pupils: Early identification and tailored support help these pupils make strong progress, narrowing gaps in outcomes.
Strengths Highlighted by Ofsted:
- Safeguarding is robust and effective; pupils feel safe, valued, and well looked after.
- Curriculum is carefully designed to suit a diverse community, promoting cultural awareness and respect from Nursery through Year 2.
- Attendance has improved due to whole school efforts, though some fine tuning in monitoring systems is needed.
